This year Cannes Young Lions presented the print teams with a brief with a larger purpose: present one single print piece that will help illuminate the plight of mothers across the globe. Our research revealed that the #1 issue contributing to 289,000 maternal deaths each year was complications with, and lack of, transportation. We found a simple solution: use the most recognizable image of motherhood--the baby bump-- to illuminate the massive bumps in the road these women must overcome simply to become mothers.
